My Little Guy

What an amazing few days. It's crazy to think I am a new Dad. That's right a Dad. My son, Quincy Forbes Edward Blackwood, was born December 16, 2011 at 1634hrs, 4lbs 13oz 19inch long. 35 weeks one month premature.

He's spending his first weeks in the NICU and I am told for a preemie baby he's is doing excellent. I am speechless every time I go into see him. Quincy has touched my heart and I can't wait for him to come home.

More pictures of him will follow and he will be an endless source of photo inspiration. My Quincy, the little fighter.

A Cold Day

My most recent shoot was with some really great friends of mine.  Their two daughters, I have to say, were troopers.  Kids are hard enough to photograph, and in the cold it is ten times harder.  Jackets off....getting them to stand as still as they can.... jackets on; then off to another spot to do it all over again.

I loved these pictures, the contrast in the sky and the earth tone shades of the ground paired well with everyones rosy cheeks and smiles.  I brought along some flowers for the girls which also brightened up the day.

All in all, my hat is off to the parents for keeping the girls smiling and in the "happy I am getting my picture taken mood" even though it was so cold out.

Welcome All

Hello and welcome to the My World Photography page blog!!

I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays and are ready for the coming new year.

I started this blog in hopes of sharing my "take" on the pictures on my page.  There is always a little story behind every picture and this should be shared.  In the upcoming weeks and throughout every photo shoot I do, I will attempt to put to put to words the ideas and thoughts behind the "picture".

Again I want to thank you for taking the time to view my page and these posts.
